■RV Dump Specialty Shop in Q

In the southwestern, the federal lands provide tons of free camping areas and free campsites or boondocks off the grid. Every winter, flocks of RVs known as Snowbirds descend there down, and stay a long period of time within these areas. Some of them come all the way from the northern states, even from Alaska, Canada. But in summer, the temperatures are over 110 degrees Fahrenheit, therfore few camper are seen in the boonies.

アメリカ南西部には、無料キャンプ地や地域、又はブーンドック可能な場所が米連邦政府が管轄する公共の土地にごまんとある。 冬は温暖なので、スノーバードと呼ばれるRVが長期の避寒地として選び、毎年大挙してやって来る。渡り鳥の如く、遥か北方の州から、また中にはカナダやアラスカからも来ている。しかし、夏は酷暑で気温は43℃を超える。そんな奥地でキャンプしていたのは僕らだけだった。

Elkheart, IN is known as being the RV capital of the World, but on the other hand,Quartzsite, Arizonais well known as the Boondocking Capital among RVers or the Rock Capital of the world. The "Q" town locates "in the middle of nowhere." near California state border and are surrounded by LTVAs and free camping areas. Only in winter months, under the blue sky, over two million visitors enjoy “Desert Phenomenon” such as Rock & Jem show, RV show, swap meet Gathering of RVers and so on. Someone says ”This is a wild and crazy place full of wacky seniors soaking up the warm sun and living it up in the desert."

インディアナ州のエルクハートはRV製造の世界的な中心地だが、アリゾナ州クォーツサイトはRVでキャンプする人達の聖地として知られている。この街の別名はQタウン。カリフォルニア州の州境に近い辺鄙な地域で、周囲にはLTVAと呼ばれる長期滞在地や無料のキャンプエリアがある。毎年冬になると様々なイベントやRVキャンパーの集い等が屋外で開催され、2百万人以上が参加している。「砂漠で人生を大いに楽しみつつ日向ぼっこする頭のおかしな高齢者で溢れているが、羽目を外して夢中になれる場所で、」と言う人もいる。

Almost RVers camp in the LTVA adjacent the town like as a vast unpaved but hard packed gravel parking lot without hookups but with bargain price (US$180/7month, US$40/14days), where BLM manages and provides Dump Stations near each edge of areas. Overflowed RVs move into 14-day Camping Areas at a bit away from the town or other LTVAｓ in remote locations. RVers set up camp in these desert anywhere they wish. Of course, Many RV Parks with full-hookups locate in/near the town, but are crowded and charge fees. Some of snowbirds privent big spending, avoid clamorous places or roaring noise of AC generators, therefore they nove into secluded areas, the more out of the way places, searching for places to enjpy loneliness, silence or mother nature.

QタウンのLTVAは街に隣接しているのでRVキャンパーに人気がある。但し、硬土で未舗装の広大な駐車場の様なエリア。 BLMが管理し、ノンフックアップだが格安料金でRVキャンパーに冬期間中の長期停泊を許可している。停泊エリアの端には給排水可能なダンプステーションがあり、使用料は停泊料に含まれている。溢れたキャンパーには別のエリアが用意されている。少し町から外れると、無料の14-day Camping Areasが多数存在する。ここは平坦な荒野で、最長で連続14日間の停泊が可能。但し、それ以降は決められた距離以上離れた無料キャンプエリアに移動しなけらばならないというルールがある。これらのエリアは砂漠なので、好きな場所でキャンプが出来る。勿論、一般のRVパークも多数あるが、1月から2月はイベントが開催され、その多くが満車になる。 RVパークでの長期間滞在は多額の支出になる事、LTVAは込み合っている事、街に近い無料キャンプエリアはACジェネレーターの騒音が耳障りな事、等を理由に更に辺鄙で誰も行かないような場所で孤立感や大自然を楽しみつつ無料停泊している避寒者もいる。 (本来、これをブーンドックと言う)

In such places, they have to move when their waste tanks need dumping. It seems RVers live according to the dictates of the waste tank. Unfortunatly, not-like other states, there are few free dump stations in AZ. But specialty shops serve for RVers in "Q" town. These are wonderful service that I’ve never seen in any other part of the US. Following is some one of them. Hence comes its name.of"RVers' Haven."

そんな場所での停泊中はノンフックアップ。汚水タンクが満タンになったら処理場所へ移動しなければならない。まるで汚水タンクの状況がRVキャンパーの生活を支配しているように思える。残念な事にアリゾナ州は他州と異なり、無料のダンプステーションは殆ど無い。しかし、QタウンにはRVキャンパー向けの専門店がある。それらのサービスは、アメリカの他の地域では見たことが無かった。いくつか紹介するが、RVキャンパー天国と呼ばれる所以が、ここにある。

RV Pit Stop mainly offer Dumping, potabl Water and Propane filling service all at once. Dumping services are based on the size of rig and its price is a bit steep. it seems that they keep their rates competitive with the local market.
